Luke Speaks at International Positive Education Network Conference London



On the 6th October 2017 Luke was invited to speak at the IPEN Conference in London. The theme of the event was next steps for wellbeing in education. The event focused on how best to prepare young people for the demands of the 21st century. The topics included wellbeing, flourishing, mental health, 21st century skills, humour, and mindfulness. Participants had the opportunity to hear from experts in the field on how to use positive psychology in the classroom, at home and in their own lives.

Other speakers included

  • Ruby Wax, Author of Frazzled, TV Personality and Mental Health Advocate

  • Nicky Morgan MP, Member of Parliament, Former Secretary of Education

  • Professor Russell Foster, University of Oxford, Head of the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology and The Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute

  • Sir Anthony Seldon, Vice-Chancellor, University of Buckingham

Luke was asked to speak about his experiences of eduction and to tell his story based on his personal health and wellbeing when in school. Luke talked about the double benefits of Youth Social Action and how is life changed when he started helping others.


Lukes inspirational story and articulated messages were extremely well received from the audience in attendance. Some of the comments Luke received were -
