Luke Rees was among public figures, mental health campaigners and health ministers from all over the world as he was invited to meet UK Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street on World Mental Health Day, October 10th.
The reception was also part of a global summit on mental health that took place in London which had representation from 68 countries. The reception was a great opportunity to meet like-minded and passionate individuals all of whom are trying to normalise the conversation and end the stigma around mental health and wellbeing.
Luke had an opportunity to chat with the Prime Minister and network with peers from different organisations. Talking about this incredible opportunity Luke said:
“It was a tremendous honour to attend 10 Downing Street, to meet the Prime Minister and share ideas with colleagues from across the world. Having the opportunity to talk to the Prime Minister about the importance of educating young people inside of the education system about the benefits of activities such as youth social action and physical activity can have on mental well-being."
